The OHRI is looking for a Flow Cytometer capable of detecting a minimum of 25 parameters, including Forward Scatter Detector (FSC) and Side Scatter Detector (SSC) and have the capability of detecting 25,000 or more events per second.
Systems of interest would have UV (355 nm), Violet (405 nm), Blue (488 nm), Yellow Green (561 nm) and Red (630-640 nm) lasers. Other lasers available would be of interest as well.
Our laboratory is interested in a system with high-capacity fluidics system containers, allowing for long periods of instrument running. We also need of multiple types of samples holding devices, including individual tubes, tube racks and deep well plates
As we will be working with an internal GMP Facility (vBMC) and IQOQ (Installation Qualification, Operation Qualification) and PQ (Performance Qualification) will be required as part of the instrument installation.
We are also very interested in additional years of extended warranty/contract service (up to five additional years), with at least 1 Preventive Maintenance service provided for the instrument per warranty and extended/contract year period. As this is a CFI funded purchase In-Kind discounts are encouraged.
We are very interested of any Autofluorescence extraction capabilities as well as any Cell counting capabilities (without using counting beads) that the vendor might have within their Flow Cytometers systems.
The source of funding for this instrument is the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI). The CFI is an independent corporation created in 1997 by the Government of Canada to fund research infrastructure. The CFI's mandate is to strengthen the capacity of Canadian universities, colleges, research hospitals, and non-profit research institutions to carry out world-class research and technology development projects that benefit Canadians. The CFI funds up to 40% of a project's infrastructure costs which are invested in partnership with eligible institutions and their funding partners from the public sectors. In Ontario, the Ministry of Research and Innovation? generally matches the 40% of the CFI funding. The remaining 20% or more is provided by the institution and/or the private sectors on a voluntary basis.
