The Univeristy of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) Biomedical Engineering Department is seeking to replace its current custom, in-house developed, and outdated Cardiac Technology Management System with a commercially available, tested, validated, and ready-made, Biomedical Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The Biomedical CMMS system must be a native application, built on the Service Now platform and is capable to be embedded with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) IT enterprise service platform ServiceNow instance. This functionality will ensure that medical and IT assets are linked from a service delivery, monitoring, asset management, data connectivity perspective. This will create the capability for Biomed and IT service teams to communicate, share real-time data seamlessly, collaborate, and manage organizational risk from the bedside to the server room. Additionally, it will avoid the need for a middleware integration system. Having the Biomedical CMMS embedded on the existing IT enterprise platform allows for one single database and platform to maintain, reducing the number of IT infrastructures and required resources.
