Description

The purpose of this study is to complete an analysis of options for renovation, expansion and repurposing of the Fire College at 1495 Muskoka Rd N.

This will allow the ministry to determine the best use of the current Gravenhurst site/any retrofits required for existing buildings that will be utilized or the applicable program areas across the ministry.

This analysis should include at minimum the development of opportunities to augment the existing training capacity on short-term basis and assessment of long term options, which includes functional program development, review of the suitability of adjacent land opportunities, site due diligence activities on all existing and proposed sites, and design options to meet the long-term needs of the Office of the Fire Marshal, (OFM), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Ontario Police College (OPC). Development of a concept plan for the site that responds to programmatic needs, including options for building to be reused and/or demolished.
